competition in Gqeberha (24 June)
The second competition was in Gqeberha. First place for Thandwayo, second for Emihle and third for Siyolile in the combined under 17/20 and senior age group.
Eastern Cape Championships (22 April)
The first competition of the year was Eastern Cape Champs in Port Alfred, with our fencers winning all under 17 medals.
training camp in Gauteng (3-5 March)
Thandwayo was selected as reserve for the African Championships in Ghana, but unfortunately we couldn't get the logistics for the trip organised. To prepare for future opportunities, he went to Gauteng for a training camp by Sello Maduma, a top coach and Olympic fencer.
