Our handball girls went for their annual far trip to Durban for the Umlazi Invitational Tournament with participants from Zimbabwe and South Africa. Our team did very well ending at a second place behind a strong Durban team. As an extra the team visited uShaka Marine World, a great experience!
After disappointing attendance at our training sessions in July, the handball team picked up nicely and had nine full members now qualifying to play matches. The Department of Sport invited our team for a match in Grahamstown. The tough match was proudly won by our girls.
The Nemato Handball Club went to Port Elizabeth for their first tournament of the year. A clinic and a tournament were combined in one event. With no experienced handball coaches in our club, the clinic was very useful and gave the team a lot of new knowledge and skills. It also helped to build a network in the small Eastern Cape handball community. Our team didn't win, but it was a great trip anyway.
